Default Keeping your bold clean

Please Login to Remove!

Okay so I've found setting my BB Bold up to be incredibly easy and my impressions within the first day have been far surpassed (with no small help on this forum I may add, thanks guys!).

So I was wondering, I don't want my lovely new phone to be covered in scratches and I don't like the wallet it comes in...so where's a good place to buy a screen protector and case online, that's value for money and good quality? There's a credit crunch on mind!

Well as far as the screen protector, seido sells the best ones..( My opinion)..all my devices have one.. And for a case it depends (seidio-pricey,boxwave-pricey,amazon-good prices, also crackberry has a store-good prices if anything I have a 10% coupon in case)not much but helps..

good luck...It loves the oil...

lint free cloth x2. My main problem is my trackball is sticking already and there doesn't appear to be a way to remove it *easily*

Bestskinsever.com 2 screen for $8. OEM silicone cas $12. You're good to go. And I got the OEM leather
Pocket for $20 when I want it to look more "professional" instead of the silicone case. I sold the holster that
came with mine.

You could look at fortte cases (one of this forum's sponsors).

I really like screenpatronus for screen protectors.

I also use a spare microfibre cloth that I picked up at the local auto-store. They had like a pack of ten. I have a small micro fibre eyeglass cloth that I carry on me as well

To clean your trackball, just put a small amount of rubbing alcohol on a micro-fiber cloth. Rub it around.for a little while.

And just try to avoid using your phone with greasy or sticky hands.

Good luck!

Being someone who must inject daily, I have a supply of alcohol pads. When my trackball gets sticky all I do is turn my Bold off, open an alcohol prep pad and lightly rub the pad on the trackball for about a minute. Let it dry, power the Bold on - and it's a miracle cure!

Best thing to use is eye glass or lens cleaner (diluted isopropyl alcohol) and a lens cloth.
I clean my phone everyday and helps keep the trackball happy

I usually have a bit of dandruff and despite my efforts battling against it, its always there. My biggest clean concern is these little flakes that fall onto my BB. They get on there, and are hard to get off of the sides of the screen.

Like, you know on the bottom of the screen before it goes down to the keyboard and trackball, it has a little ridge. Thats what i'm talkin about, hard to get in there and clean it out.

Other then that, i don't use protection and my screen has been fine even though i've dropped the thing twice and done the dreaded, "Drop and kick with foot" once.

so is there a reason that the trackball goes a bit yellow after a while? i've been cleaning the trackball on a regular basis though. the stickiness isn't there (thankfully) so that's a blessing, but it's annoying to see my brother's and mom's bolds having shiny white trackballs and mine looking a bit yellowish. almost sickly! :(

Oil from your fingers can do that.

Also if you expose it to a lot of sunlight that can do it as well

First things I replaced were the trackball (Black Trackball), the bottom plate (removed the AT&T branding and replaced it with a plain black cover) and the AT&T keyboard was replaced with the "international keyboard (white letters with red numbers). Everything came from Cnn.cn.

Quick question, i believe the black trackball doesn't light up, but i've seen red and other colors on cnn.cn. Is it only black that doesnt light up or none of them do. My blackberry came stock with the keyboard you were talking about. Is the replacement process of changing trackballs and keybouards hard or can the average joe do it with the right tools?
