i have the case-mate one. i really like it. i can understand you wanted a real carbon fiber battery cover but for me the Case-mate one works just fine for the price. plus it fits snug like the oem cover. i think they changed it cause i heard people complaining about a loose fit. or maybe i got lucky.

Lucky more than likely. I am one of many that had issues. Finally received a refund minus shipping. Its a shame as I liked the look just not the fit.

I work with carbon fiber in a body shop. Carbon fiber doesnt get as thin as the battery door on a blackbery for it to be strong enough. It will snap in no time. It wouldt be that expensive to be made (maybe 35 dollars). Your best bet is to get a carbon fiber sheet decal for rc cars and cover your battery door with that. Or if you are good with an airbrush, you can create a really good looking carbon fiber look using silver, opaque black, transparent black, and checker shelf liner
