Question How to prevent disablement of security?

Please Login to Remove!

In our company user's have to type in their PIN code and then their password to access their BB.

Yesterday I found out that one user only had to put in his password to log into his BB. I found this very surprising, as I thought our administrators had setup the policy correctly.

Then I tried it also on my BB 7290 and was able to do the same, by going to Options > SIM Card > Disable security.

Is there any policy or setting that can be set to prevent users from disabling security (and thus obliging them to always insert a PIN code to log in?).

Have you pushed down an IT Policy onto their BlackBerrys?

Hi NJ,

Yes, we have pushed an IT Policy onto their BB's. Is there any way to solve this in the IT Policy?

Hi boma0021,

I think what you are giving me is related to the security password. My issue is with the PIN-code on the SIM-card. Can I force that one?

I think if you put simcard to other device and disable PIN code it will do the same for every device. That's what i found recently. PIN code is completely separate part of BB. It's bound only to simcard.
