Default Whats are the suttle differences between an 8520 and an 8900?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi guys, been away from the forums and blackberry's in general for about 8 months so i'm trying to catch up with the current situation regarding berry's.

The Blackberry 8520 is available in the UK now but i'm struggling to see why this phone should be bought over an 8900? Infact, this phone seems less superior in every way to the 8900.

I can't imagine any company doing this if there was no point to it so could someone just explain to me why a person would choose an 8520 over the 8900?

trackpad.
It doesnt get dust underneath it.
It isnt a ball that can get stuck.

you asked for subtle: the 8520 is 0.1 inch thicker (front to back)

Default 8320 - 8520 - 8900

I have an 8320 and am due for upgrade in under 2 months.
Looking between 8520 and 8900 (originally thought about 9000 for 3G but too expensive).
Specifically comparing the 8320 - 8520 - 8900, what is difference between these in terms of following;
1. Batery Life.
2. CPU Speed.
3. Display.
4. GPS.
5. Memory.
6. Signal Quality (especially weak signal areas).

I know there is a lot of information out there but if anybody has compiled it all together that would be great for me (and others I guess).

Many Thanks for reading - and hopefully responding!

Not sure if your original question has been answered... looks like it. Anyway, owning both, I'd say that the 8900 has a superior camera, and GPS. And is by the smallest of margins a tad slimmer. Anything else, they're either identical, or the 8520 actually comes out on top - namely processor speed/power.

For ME, the thing that got me to keep the 8520 (and give my wife the 8900) was the Pad vs. Trackball. I HATE the trackballs - especially now, seeing how much better the touch pad works. Any future BB I get will have to have one. (will revisit after a few months - ensuring durability)
