Default YouMail finally gets it's own in house visual voicemail app for BlackBerry

Please Login to Remove!

Here's the release story on it:

YouMail gets real with a BlackBerry app | The Download Blog - Download.com

I can't find a link to download it yet though, wondering if I fire up my 8320 I can get the app and extract it. Too tired for that tonight, but perhaps some other users want to give this a go?

Can't get it to work. Get message "There was an error downloading your account info." after I put in my number and pin. Guess it's back to VyMail for the time being!

If anyone else figures it out let me know.

I logged in with no problems at all. I *think* that it was released for specific carriers.

I logged in just fine, but it's not downloading the voicemails yet. I'll give it some time and tinker with it to see if there is a permission that needs to be changed or perhaps they're just loaded down today with people trying it out.

For those that are having trouble with it, make sure your APN settings are entered, not sure if it needs that, but I have mine set as lots of 3rd party apps won't work correctly without it.

Also I see the ability to upload contacts... That's a MOST welcome feature... I'll be trying that out to see how it deals with merges of contacts and such.

I have same problem. May be an overloaded server issue as everyone is jumping on it.

i have verizon, and it worked great for me. no error messages, nothing.

this was much needed for youmail.....vymail was awful, i deleted it immediately. the idea was great, but i'm pumped that youmail finally got around to creating a usable app

My PIN is greater than 4 digits, which is all the field will accept.

Seems like a dumb limitation, but it appears to still be a beta (0.93.13).

I have a message in with their support bots.

Update:

Still getting the "There was an error downloading your account info." message.

I downloaded the program.
My number already appeared.
I input my PIN.
Then minimize the keyboard and press OK.
A pop-up menu comes up with three options (show keyboard, switch application, full menu)
The the signing in status bar pops up.
10%
50%
The another pop-up stating "There was an error downloading your account info."
All you can do is click ok and start the entire process over again.

Doesn't work for me either - same account info error. I'm on T-Mobile which it is supposed to support.

I still really like VyMail and will stick with that - it's been working flawlessly for me.

There is a new version available for download today. I contacted support yesterday and they said to try it today. The new version is 0.93.14.

Update: Still having issues with this version. I receive a "Connect error. Try again later." message.

New version, same story. Still non-functioning. They should call it an alpha.

I installed it, tried it.
It didn't pick up ANY of my voicemails in my 'inbox'. It appeared to cause a lag on my phone; frustratingly slowed things down.

I deleted it.
