I have the BES Mailbox from Empower and it's working as it should, however; when I click on the icon it takes me to my inbox, and then a second later it changes to 'Unfiled Messages' and shows me ALL emails, including sent messages. I unchecked 'sent' from the options, but that didn't help.

How can I get it to stay at my inbox and not go to 'Unfiled Messages'??

It is an issue with Empower BES mailbox and OS 4.5. It goes to the last inbox that you previously opened for a second before going to just the BES "received and sent" e-mail box. When exiting it also goes back to the last BIS or all email inbox on the way out. I talked with Empower and they have not figured out anyway to correct the sent e-mail showing or the entrance and exit issue with the 4.5 operating system. If you use the main message box, then after you handle the BES mail the program exits to the main message bos to show the remaining BIS mail.

I ran into the same problem with my new Bold. Support advised me that they are in contact with RIM and may have a fix out early next week.

In the interim, just create a search shortcut within the Messages application. I use ALT-b for BES.

I'm Having this exact same problem with the latest version of BES Mailbox.

On OS4.5 and above what you see momentarily is actually the 'last opened' mailbox. This is the default behavior on these OSes and is beyond the control of Empower BESMailBox. It seems that on these OSes the device remembers (caches) the last opened view (possibly for faster access) and so it will launch only with that view and you see it momentarily before the BES-mails come up.

Hi,

I've had a few run ins where I thought I was marking my BIS mailbox unread (no big deal) but it turned out I was marking my full mailbox. This happened when I exit from BES, it takes me to the full message list. In that list if I read the BIS emails, then forget that I'm not in BIS-only, but in full message mode, the accidentally mark prior opened on the whole box. It sucks because without flags or categories on the BB, unopened is the best way to flag emails to come back to on the desktop.

If you mean version 4.0.0.52 then it still doesn't work properly. A better idea is to get your BB Admin to following the instructions at this link:

This will add a mailbox icon for just BES messages. No need to Empower any longer. Note that each user needs to reload their service books to see this icon.
