HELLO everyone,

I am new user of blackberry and hence new on this website. Ive been trying to read alot on the threads.

Can anybody tell me if twitter and facebook apps work only when you have data service. As in cant i use the apps when i am connected to the internet via the wi-fi ??

any suggestions ?

Any apps that require access to the RIM system require a blackberry data plan. That definitely applies to the blackberry facebook and twitter apps, written by RIM.

If you have a generic data plan and/or wifi only, you can try UberTwitter. It does not require a BB data plan, and it's free!

Just to add, if you have a BLACKBERRY data plan and not a generic one, those apps should work over wifi also, but ONLY if ou have a BLACKBERRY data plan

This also is the same for email. It will not work at all without the dataplan. Once you get it, it will connect using whatever connection it can
