Default SRP will connect and then disconnect over and over

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

One of my clients is currently having a BES problem. The SRP connection status will show "connected" and then 10-15 seconds later, show "disconnected". Ok wait, let me start over.

Once upon a time, this client purchased BES 3.6. BES 3.6 was installed and working (to the best of my knowledge). Then they upgraded to 4.1 for new features and such. After a while, the BES started working intermittently. I believe the main issues were PIM related. The client continued to have problems until one day when they asked me to reinstall. So here's where we stand.

I have created a new VMWare server with Win 2003 Standard.
I have downloaded and installed BES 4.1.5, but used the CALs, SRP, and SRP identif from the 3.6 version.
The problems we are having are as follows:

The SRP status will show connected, and then 10-15 seconds later, disconnected. This happens continually.
Current users are having OTA syncing issues. Deleting an email from the blackberry will not delete it from the desktop. Creating a contact in either place will not replicate that change to the other.
When trying to activate a new user with a freshly wiped device, it will fail.

Question: Could all these issues be tied to the fact that I am using old CAL, SRP, and SRP indentif information?
Is the fact that I'm using old licensing info the reason that the SRP status continually changes from connected to disconnected?

Thanks.

Wirelessly posted (Breaking Ball)

By any chance, do you have both the old and new BES running at the same time with the same SRP?

Thanks for the reply.

Negative ghostrider. I uninstalled the old BES before I started the install of the new BES (Basically, I started from scratch, as if I had no BES. Deleted and recreated the BESAdmin account, new database, etc.)

I had that issue, and a quick call to RIM cleared it up. Basically, like penguin thought, even though my two servers were never up at the same time, BB saw the same SRP coming from two different IP addresses and put it on hold. I explained to them the transfer, and they released the hold and I've been humming ever since.
