WSOD & Error 205/Reset - Solved!

I'm away from home, with my Mac laptop (and no Windows install on it) and my Blackberry. This afternoon my Bold went schizo on me, giving me 5 or 6 "uncaught exception/null pointer" errors in a row I was able to click through them (finally) with the trackball, but noticed my profile indicator in the upper left corner of the screen was gone. When I rolled the cursor up to that spot I was able to highlight a blank box where the icon should have been. Then the WSOD. I did a battery pull but it only came back to the white screen with Error 205/Reset. Uh-oh!
After several unsuccessful batter pulls to reset I began to think my only option was to find a Windows computer and re-install. I took my SIM card out while the battery was out, figuring I'd put it in my RAZR2 so I'd at least have a phone while I straightened out my Bold. I popped my battery back into the Bold without the SIM card and after a minute or two I was greeted by the Rogers splash screen! Great news as no restart had gotten me anywhere near that. I played with it for a few minutes to confirm that all the other apps were functioning normally and that no data was lost, and finally reinserted my SIM. Boom! Started up normally and has been working perfectly for 2 hours now. Yeah baby!
Anyway, if your Bold gives you some trouble and a simple battery pull doesn't fix it, try restarting with no SIM card installed. Always worth a try!
