Question Google canada and made in canada coincidence?

Please Login to Remove!

Just recently I've noticed that EVERYTIME I try to go to google.com it takes me out to google.ca (google canada). I've tried to understand why. I did some research and couldn't find an answer. Closest thing I've come to was a little debate on another forum about which pearls are better, made in mexico or made in canada. So I looked on the back of my pearl and what do you know it's made in CANADA. Coincidence? Is a bug or some kind of defect? I live in the US and I'm with T-mo.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but BlackBerrys connect to Google Canada because they route through RIM's network, which is in Canada.

It's not a bug. It's not a defect. It's been mentioned before (A search performed with "google.ca" as the search terms yielded: http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ght=Google.ca). All you have to do is scroll down on the Google.ca page and click on "show me Google US" (or something to that effect). DiRN is however somewhat correct. Google recognizes the phone's IP (I believe) as of Canadian origin, therefore it shows you Google.ca until you make the above mentioned change.

Wirelessly posted (8700g: BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Mine goes to Google (US). However, there is an option at the bottom to go to Google Canada. Try changing the preferences.

This happened to me once, and I didn't even notice until I went to read some news and found it to be rather Canada-centric.
