If I set up a Yahoo mail account on my Blackberry, will it download ALL Yahoo mail messages in the inbox? There are several years worth of email there and I don't want them to all download - only future emails.

One other thing, if I delete a Yahoo email on my Blackberry, will it delete it on Yahoo, too? (I want to keep them on Yahoo.)

It doesn't sync my Yahoo calendar and contacts with the Blackberry, does it? I have an existing contact list and calendar that syncs with Outlook and don't want the Yahoo calendar/contacts mixed in.

The BIS will only send new email to the blackberry. One plus is it is almost instant

The read/unread and delete sync works most of the time.

You can sync your PIM info with Yahoo using the desktop manager, if you desire.

Thanks for the info. A question, though. I want to be able to delete emails on my Blackberry, but leave them on the Yahoo mail site. Will it delete them on Yahoo, if I delete them on my Blackberry?

There's an option when you set up in BIS to sync with the email in the mailbox. I think if you do not enable that, you will achieve what you desire. I would run some tests and see. What I do is enable sync and then move the email I want to keep into a folder.

there is an option to allow you to delete only on handheld or on both handheld and your inbox.

options->email reconciliation

If you set that option to prompt, it'll ask u if you want to delete from mail box & handheld or just handheld.

Syncing is actually pretty nice. If you set read or keep new on bb it's read or keeps new on yahoo. If you delete or read on yahoo, it deletes or marked read on bb.

Gmail doesn't seem to do this. Not sure about hotmail.
