Default Resetting for EDGE

Please Login to Remove!

On my unlocked Verizon branded BlackBerry 9530 I have noticed that if I do a battery pull many times when the device reboots it'll display as edge and not EDGE. There are times where I have to do 6-7 reboots before EDGE displays on the top right hand corner. I have noticed this issue regardless of what OS I am using, is there a way to correct this issue? One wireless store assumed it could be that I am using an old sim card so they gave me a brand new one & that didn't correct the issue either.

In the Mobile Network Options menu I have the following:

Data Services: On

Mobile Network: Rogers

Network Selection Mode: Automatic

Network Technology: GSM/UMTS

Network Mode: 3G & 2G

I'd appreciate any info from all the BB Guru's out there.

So I am not alone on this...

Anybody know what could be causing this?

I had better luck on AT&T with the network mode just on 2G.

Mine does the same thing on USA T-Mo. Is worse immediately after updating OS. Mine is also best if set specifically to 2G. I haven't found any pattern to it, I have 2x updated the OS and both times it was slow to pick up the EDGE network immediately after the update but after that it seems to be pretty much instant if I do a battery pull, etc. I have related it to getting the correct service books from T-Mo but just a guess.
