@ mgerbasio
Look, I get that people get themselves into bad situations with mortgages all the time. Trust me, I am a mortgage vet. BUT, that isn't to say that you would not help out someone you know? Being that this person is one of us, it's somewhat of our calling to see if we can lend a hand in any way. If you think that a $5 donation is too much for you to burden, then don't contribute. The fact is -- one of our own is in need of help. Chances are he/she wasn't looking for the help in the first place but by the grace of a higher power and someone's willingness to open the donation fund (NickfromIL), we should try to do what we can. Is it not too much to ask to skip out on a Starbucks coffee or pack of smokes for one day to help another?

I understand your frustration, money is tight for everyone and no one saw the mortgage disaster that we are currently in coming in the first place. Bad things happen to good people all the time. Let's just try to do our part.

nchavez,
If you want to take this to the lounge or pm, I'd be happy to discuss the problems with America. Since my question was answered, and the answer was no, I don't want to make someone's personal issue worse.

Regards-Michael G.

mgerbasio,
No need to. Your views were expressed as well as mine. Agree to disagree or whatever other cliche` that one would use. Take care.

I just wanted to respond to get my 600th post! Seriously though, I would say the best thing about America is people helping people.

Donation made, PM sent. I have been helped in hard situations before, so I understand how much this can help. I hope everyone gives what they can. Good karma for all. Great job NickfromIL on starting this up. I will try and give more later on if possible, see what else I can round up.

I'm gonna donate another $50 in a few. Just thought i'd say that my blackberry 8330 was ruined. A co worker spilled coffee on the face of my phone. I'm airing it out and hoping it drys out. We'll see in a couple of weeks if it still works. If not I guess i'll start saving up for a new one.

Sounds like you deserve a donation fund too.

Did you read the FAQ to deal with a wet BlackBerry?

Shouldn't cost you a dime. Make the coworker pony up the cash to get you a new one if you are not able to save yours. I know...easier said than done but still... it wasn't your fault, was it?
