can a user run blackberry unite software even though the blackberry is on a bes. This is a request from a vip and I haven't tried but I'm guessing it will cause a problem. I am not too familiar with unite and all I'm concerned about is that it will interfere with synchronization with the bes... any advice would be greatly appreciated...
It adds:
- contact sharing between units in the Unite group;
- upload/download management between the unite server and BBs, including wireless browsing of the server and OTA downloading for small files;
- remote device management for email password change, and (if configured on the server) device password change, device wipe and device page (for finding lost devices) of other Blackberries;
- a mail box on the device to which the Unite server can deliver mail gathered from a number of POP/IMAP accounts, and through which the user can send mail via the Unite server;
- a choice of web browsing through the BIS server or Unite server (or with policy mods both). Browsing through the unite server gives you access to web servers local to the Unite server, and allows the Unite server to filter (or not) web access from the Blackberries;
- control numbers that Blackberries can call, and what numbers can call the Blackberries.
If you have some programing skills you can also take advantage of the Unite MDS to establish push channels the Blackberry.
