Having the same issue. Mine is an AT&T bold which came w/ .167 installed. Have only had it since Monday but I notice major memory leaks and it is inconsistent. Yesterday I did an Alt-Shift-Del reboot and had 25mb of free memory. Maybe an hour later I had around 3mb!!! All I did in the interim was send and receive a few emails, make a few phone calls and use the web browser. The only 3rd party apps I have installed are Facebook and Google Maps.

Also my battery life isn't so hot....can easily go a day but no where near 2. I have Wifi off, bluetooth on and GPS on. I never really use GPS, in fact I have a hard time getting it to lock on in NYC - will turning that off help matters?

I am in NYC so I have a pretty good 3G signal most of the time. Every now and then it will kick to EDGE but rarely.

Overall love the phone (seems really speedy) but not impressed w/ memory or battery usage.

Haven't tried any other OSs on the Bold so nothing to compare it to.

I also downgraded from .167 AT&T to .162 Rogers. .167 has a severe memory leak, which offsets any improvement tradeoffs there might be between the two versions (not that I noticed any) for me.

With .167 I would boot up with 27 MB free, which would drop to 17 MB within half a day (even overnight, not using it). With .162, I boot up with 45 MB free and it's still at 40 MB after a few hours of use plus overnight.

"where are you getting the original 162 for me to downgrade. I took it off the first post on this thread, when if was time to downgrade, it didn't ask, it just synced. now I have 162 on my pc and 167 on the phone.

Any word on when 4.6.0.171 will be released? I've been running 4.6.0.168 for about a week now without any dramas, just like to keep the thing updated!

You have to plug the BB in, start Desktop Manager and THEN start the Application Loader. Also, make sure you are using Desktop Manager v4.6.

i was running the .168 for a week on my Bold and because some small issues i downgrade to .167.
The Memoryleak with .167 is very anoying. The Free Mem drops from 24.1MB down to 3 MB in a couple of Hours without doing anything with the Bold, just receiving Email.
The .167 is the worst Release ever. On the .168 the leak is also not fixed but it takes days to lower the Memory from 37 MB to 5 MB.

Very poor that RIM cant fix a obvious memoryleak in over 10 Firmware Releases. Iam tired of plugging my accu and reboot every Day only to keep this Device running smooth.

regards

Default BB9000 - Pre loaded Ring Tones, Sampled Pictures, Sampled Video Missing...

I have problem with my Blackberry BOLD :

Pre loaded ringtones, sampled pictures, sampled video, and sample songs is missing!
So when I try to customize sounds in Profiles, the name of the ringtones listed, but no sounds at all.

What problem this could be?

I have done reflash it with it's Original firmware untill latest firmware problem still exist.

I also try to wipe it using MFI Multiloader, try to write rim9000g.sfi using CFP,etc still no luck.

Can anybody tell me where is preloaded ringtones, sampled pictures, etc located (eg.in .sfi)?

Can those files be written using another software?

Advice from BB Expert and Moderator from this forum will be great....thanks in advanced
