Hello, anybody help, please. I've STORM 9500
I had OS 4.7, recently upgrade to 5.0.0.451. Since then, i can not install any theme or application from my memory card, with .jad files.

Can't run/install apps from the SD. It is only for music, pictures, ringtones, and in some cases storing files and documents.

sorry dubdub, my english is not very good, i don't understand your answer
it is not only for music, pics, ringtones
i can't download/install with .jad files any theme or app from sd car, and before i upgraded, i was doing easyly, it says "error downloading" or something like that.

I do not know how you were "doing it easily before". The SD card is only for ringtones, music and pictures. There used to be an app that would allow you to install some apps from the SD, but I haven't seen that one around for awhile.

So the answer is, you can't do what you want to do. You need to download directly to the device OTA or install with DM from your PC. The SD card is only for ringtones, music and pictures.

there is other way, not just OTA or DM, is unzipping downloaded instalation file to new folder on sd card, executing the *.jad file and it will "download" as if you download from internet, after that you can erase it from sd card but the installation will stay in the phone. the fact is, from here we can connect but not download anything from the blackberry official site, im from cuba...

What infrared says is true. You can install "from" the media card. At least, I can and have been doing it for some time. As long as you have the proper jad and cod files the app will install to application memory just as if you were doing OTA.

You cannot install "to" the media card.

I cannot explain why it's no longer working after the uprade infrared.

stevetaz, that's correct, that is what i've being talking about, i have used this method before, but since i upgraded to 5.0.0.451 i can't doit anymore, and i don't know why...

Are you also loading the cod files?

yes, i'm loading .cod files, and when i execute .jad file i can read a message "error 907"

I am going to guess the file you have includes one that is corrupt. Either the jad or one of the cod files may be the problem. Here is a really old BB Support article that may be relevant.

You should probably do a fresh download of all the files to try again....

Adding to what stevetaz already suggested.

Your original post said you went from OS version 4.x to 5.x. It's possible those older applications/themes on your SD card are not compatible with 5.x.

stevetaz, i will read carefully the article you just suggested, i saw it already i think there could be the answer for my problem.
devnull, i thought about it and already tried with apps for OS 5.x and obtained the same results.
