Default Defective Volume Buttons - Bold

Please Login to Remove!

My Bold's volume keys doesn't work. The volume for phone and speaker is currently at the "middle" level. Can't adjust up or down. Sent it for repair and issue was motherboard and nothing could be done. Warranty exchange is not an option here. Apparently, this is one of the common defects in the new Bold. I know I can adjust the volume via Phone>Options>General Option>Default Volume (but this is not for speaker phone). So, anyone has this issue or is there a way or software that allows us to control the media files volume via the keyboard?

I had volume key problems as well. Only that initially they worked but had difficulty to go up or down and finally the down volume seems stuck and has no effect when pressed. Not a very reassuring debut to the BlackBerry world. But luckily managed to exchange another set.

Default Fixed it !

Well I was having the same problem, so all I did was grab a torx screwdriver, and tighten the screws on right side of the phone (side with volume keys), i noticed that if i squeezed that side, and pressed the volume keys, they would work.

*holds wood*

My buttons work fine so maybe it's not a software problem?

Yeah I have a gripe about the Bold's standby key, it really is flakey.

The first unit I had, the button stopped working in 2 weeks...

No problems so far after coming back to the Bold after a 2 month hiatus!

Thumbs up bb bold volume switch problm

just open the back cover and press softly near the volume switch of the inner body while pressing the switch up down as desired. in fact the its defective designing of the press button, its located bit inner side . electronic volume switch is not defective. only press switch is mismatched to press the inner electronic switch , as be press the inner body inside so the press switch match the electronic switch.
