I had the same issue and then puff it was gone. No rhyme/reason.

It's an AT&T network thing. I was using a Nokia N95 today and it did the exact same thing when I placed a call. Same stupid pop-up message. Later it just stopped.

I had the same message when I was calling from outside my home area. It may be tied to roaming.

Conditional call forwarding is a carrier feature that allows you to forward your calls to another number if you are:

Not forwarded to your device's voice mail
or
Not within range of your local network (i.e: roaming or in a no service area).

This feature would need to be activated by the phone user to work, though. If you think you may have it activated, and wish to deactivate it, your carrier should be able to help you with this.

I just spoke with an AT&T carrier rep (voice service NOT data service) and they we're able to fix it.

If it is not activated will it effect the ability to make roaming calls- what is the disadvantage of not activating it?? Thanks

I called AT&T and the trech had no idea what I was taking about, and then wanted to do all kinds of troublshooting with the device.

Do you recall specifically what they told you to do, or what the issue was? I'll then call AT&T and tell them. LOL

Although NDUB33 is correct about forwarding calls deliberately, I don't think this is what some of us are experiencing. Here's my own example of this pseudo-problem (because it really is not a problem, right? The call does eventually reach the intended recipient)…

I'm in Australia using Telstra from my Bold. My wife is also on Telstra and uses a Pearl. When I call her, sometimes I get the "call forwarded" message. I can assure you, my darling wife has no idea how to set up call forwarding from her Pearl. And when she does answer, she's on the Pearl, not a forwarded number.

I have no idea why sometimes I see the conditional message - maybe that is an indication that the call WILL be forwarded to voicemail if she doesn't puck up?

I think it's an automatic feature that kicks in if, just as you're dialing a number, your AT&T signal disappears for a brief second. It could be something as simple as moving behind a large building in your car, but that loss of signal and jump onto a roaming network for the briefest of seconds probably triggers that "conditional call forwarding." It automatically turns off once coverage is re-established.

I think maybe this is about the forwarding of incoming calls while you are making an outgoing call... I have setup diverts for incoming calls if my Bold is off, out of range or in use on another call. I think it is reminding me that whilst I am on a call, anything inbound will go to my voicemail.
I am quite prepared for that to be entirely wrong though.

I have this issue on my bold and everytime it does it, if I am in my car connected to blue tooth, the bluetooth connection drops. Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

No one? The only time I have my car's bluetooth disconnect is when it displays this call forwarding message. It seems to happen with certain numbers I call frequently. Is this something I should call AT&T voice support about?

To fix the Call Forwarding - Conditional message, entering *#21# at the call screen fixed it for me.

What number did you call and what did you tell them? I tried calling them and they sent me to RIM.

Thanks CalvinCline!

I just did the *#21# and I got the message: "Interrogation of Call Forwarding Unconditional returned Provisioned." Made about 6 calls and haven't seen the message. Previously I got it in just about every call. Time will tell.
