How's the battery life in .244? This was an issue for folks who went from .221 to .224 and is why I've stuck with .185 for so long. I'm one of those "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" kind of guys.

Memory usage worst yet on .224 also. Down to 20 meg in a day and a half from 33 meg. Other OS started at 40 and not go below 30 meg. Not sure if it was an issue in installing .224 as it choked at restore data stage and I had to do a battery pull for it to complete.
3G on .224 was best yet,however.
I will upgrade to .244, just to hopefully get a clean install of a new OS.

I just updated to OS .244
Like .224, the update stalled on the final step when data and settings are being restored. BES iniatialized OK so I have my contacts etc, but I lost any e-mails I saved on my device as well as PocketDay settings.
I went through Device Manager (to get reactivated on BES) and saw that programs, data etc were being backed up as part of the update process. I did not manually back up. Where is the backup data file stored buring the OS update process, so that I can locate and attempt to manually restore?

You can manually restore using Desktop manager, the file is in your "My Documents" folder on the machine you ran the loader from.

This version works great, fast 3G, fast processing. Battery life is great - went 24 hours with heavy use and 20% battery remaining. VVM icon shows, same for me a big "no" from AT&T - voice mail indicator does not show - but VVM application shows (3) bb_ modules belonging to it - if I can figure out how to delete the modules - then it should come back (VM indicator). Any ideas?

Thanks, it worked perfectly. I did a selective restore of messages and PocketDay settings, and all is well. It saved my a lot of time.

Any reports on memory management? I had really great performance on .216 for a few weeks, then it started going downhill this past weekend (around 20MB after a day's use, and only starting with barely 30MB as opposed to 33MB before).

wow I have to say the other ones I didn't really notice any difference, but this one seems tons snappier! Also it has some extra options in setup so you don't have to go changing them in other parts of the phone.
I have one question though, I am on At&t and with this build Visual voicemail icon is finally on my screen! but when i click it says provisioning not successful anybody know how to get this working or wether it's a pay service?

Last rumor I heard about the visual voicemail is that it's something at&t still has to complete on the backend... just because the option is on the phone, doesn't mean at&t has the appropriate network setup behind the scenes to make it happen... but I've seen posts that people claim they're at least working on it... so who knows... maybe we'll get lucky and they wont even charge us extra for it.... HA!

Things are generally working fine for me, but I do not seem to be getting any sort of voice mail notification, visual or otherwise. I get the initial pop up message telling me that there is a new voice mail message, but no icon on the screen. All other icons (new email, sms, missed call) seem to show up just fine.
Is anybody else noticing this?
I am on AT&T, by the way.

Wirelessly posted
Iirc the last I've read/heard AT&T is supposed to update/release VVM for BlackBerry on or around the 25th of this month. That was a few weeks ago, and I haven't had much time to stay up on much for the Bold due to new work restrictions. This is primarily why I haven't upgraded to anything. I am playing the waiting game. Since I'm on my phone I cannot link back to the thread that a few people noticed the feature in our OLAM, but it has since been removed.

Just upgraded from 221 to 244.
I did not notice any real change or improvement ( I tested only on 1 hour).
I need to check WiFi speed.

I upgraded yesterday from .224 to .244 and my battery life seems to be better. The file free is lower and not jumping around like it did on .224

A day and a half on .244 from .224. Upgraded from .224 after less than a week because of memory starting out low and dropping to 20 meg after two days of use. Memory use much better so far starting almost 10 meg higher and not going below 30meg so far. Justified the upgrade.
I suspect that 3g is slightly inferior than .224, but better than early OS such as .162.
Browser is improved from recent versions. I can again get Canada weather office radar and can link to CBC news web sites from their rss feed inside PockDay.
So far it looks like a keeper.

Yes, seeing the same thing here, no voice mail icon. Appears the network notifications are being transmitted & received, just no icon?

just upgraded to .244 and wi-fi seems extremely faster! still dont know about the battery (which btw on .216 i used it for 2 days and a half). Reboot is also faster, it takes about 1 minute or 2 maximum! Everything works fine.
