Default turn on/off dtmf tones

Can someone tell me how to turn on the dtmf tones when I dial? My phone was producing the tones and now it stopped. I need the tones to control my hearing aid. Thanks

Have you tried a battery pull?

I was wondering if there is an option to turn the tone off, thinking maybe you accidently disabled it, but I don't see such a setting. I do see a hearing aid setting, but don't know what the setting alternatives do.

At any rate, if it were me, I'd try another battery pull. Do it with the power on, and wait longer this time. Wait a good full minute, or two. See if that does it.

Your model BB does have this mode and it may be the issue but RIM offers no information on the lack of tones when dialing. You said it worked after upgrade. Is it possible you caused the issue by adding an App?

Turn on hearing aid mode
1. From the Home screen, press the Send key.
2. Press the Menu key.
3. Click Options.
4. Click Hearing Aid Mode.
5. Change the Mode Enabled field to Telecoil.
6. Press the Menu key.
7. Click Save.
The H-T telecoil indicator appears at the top of the Home screen.

The hearing aid setting actually turns some hearing aids to a "telephone" program. Tried leaving the battery out for 10 minutes - didn't do any good. Maybe I'll try reinstalling the device software again.
