Default Bluetooth problem

Please Login to Remove!

Storm 9530, it has all the updates and 5.0 operating system. Bluetooth was working until this week. When I go to manage connections and activate it, I get the Bluetooth symbol but not the flashing blue light. My WIFI/Bluetooth sniffer does not detect it and the programs that it was paired with do not find the phone. After a few minutes the Storm flashes, “Failed to connect to B0024E8C7D300”. I Googled that but nothing came up. Verizon tech tried the usual stuff, battery pull and updates, but was unable to correct it and wanted to do a “wipe”. Before I let them try that, I wanted to check with this forum for a solution. Thank you.

Try this all over, go in and remove any devices paired.
2) Go to Manage Connections and check to see you have Bluetooth checked
3) Go to Options xxx8230; Bluetooth xxx8230; Add Device xxx8230;
4) You will have a choice of Search or Listen xxx8230; Be sure to choose Search for pairing and then select the device you wish to pair with your BlackBerry.
5) At this point you will need to follow the instructions/documentation provided with your Bluetooth headset to pair your blackberry with your Bluetooth device.

Pairing is not the problem. All indications point to the Bluetooth not activating on the phone. The WIFI/Bluetooth sniffer would detect a Bluetooth frequency and currently it does not. I'm trying to determine if it is a hardware problem or software problem.

Why don't you try the following?

1. Delete the paired bluetooth device from your phone's Bluetooth device list and from the programs.
2. Perform a new pairing
3. Goto Manage connections->Setup Bluetooth
4. Select the newly paired device
5. Press "BlackBerry" button for context menu
6. Select "Device Properties"
7. Change "Trusted" option to "Yes"
8. Check on the services list of the target device and verify if the list as expected from the paired device.
9.Try activating.

The problem is not pairing, the problem is there is no Bluetooth on the phone. I have deleted all pairings and the phone does not find any other devices nor do the devices "see" the phone.

I don't understand why its working now. Ok so maybe the 3rd time is the charm. Trying the instructions a 3rd time I have the blue light again and my bluetooth sniffer is detecting the phone as well. It has paired with the Blackberry desktop via bluetooth. Thank you BesJr and Sundaraaa.
