Default BAS not updating user till 12 hours later

Please Login to Remove!

Hello All,
I have an issue where a new AD account is created(exchange-GAL) everything shows up fine, email account is active and able to send receive emails. Our current environment is 4 BES servers and 1 BAS server (Exchange 2010, BES 5.03). When searching for the user it takes upwards to 12 hours for the user to be able to be located. I spoke to RIM and we tried the following.
I spoke to RIM and the following was done to force the name to appear in the BAS.
-Restarted BAS services on BAs Server
-forced BAS to update company directory
-Moved user to another exchange DB
-verified with Admins that the account was created correctly
-checked logs ( only error found was when searching for user - No SMTP Address was found)
-verified that any existing users without BBY's are able to be located and added without a problem.

When all was exhausted RIM deferred the issue to possibly an issue on the exchange side with replication. I left off thinking that probably was the case.

Monkeywrench time-
I also had created a test BES environment in the past which is connecting to a different SQL server and which has the full BES and BAS installed all in one - instead of our setup where they run on seperate boxes. On this text box the user came up fine, which led me to believe that it is not a exchange issue but some issue where the BAS is not replicating correctly. Our prior BES admin suggested this does not have to do with the SQL database but with the registry settings on both boxes. Its not really comparing apples to aplles since one has the full version of BES and the other just has BAS. I am waiting for my admins to create some new test accounts to recreate the issue. If anything comes to mind please share- but I will post more info as I can continue troubleshooting.

Does anyone know where to find the ldap settings within the BAS itself. I found this info but does not seem to relate to BAS 5.03 here is what the LDAP Authentication tab under BAS says in "BlackBerry Solution topology > BlackBerry Domain > Component view > View (BlackBerry Administration Service) ".?

well I spoke to Rim and the one difference we found was that my test environment was running mapi instead of ldap. For testing purposes we will be adding ldap to my test environment and see if this causes a delay- supposedly with the release of MR2 and being on Exchange 2010 the need for LDAP is not necessary.

I think the RIM person you are speaking with is smoking something.

Take a look at KB17400-How to refresh or update company directory information using the BlackBerry Administration Service

We looked into this extensively when we were doing our Domino to Exchange migration.
