Question downgrade to previous version

Please Login to Remove!

I want to try to downgrade my Torch 9850 running 7.1 to the previous version. The FAQ link on top of the page appears to be dead,so I want to ask a couple questions. I found the version I want and have downloaded it, I have installed Desktop manager on the Windows partition, and it will recognize my BB when I hook it up. In some of the posts on the forum it mentions you need to wipe the device with JL Commander, but when I click on the links to the instructions it was dead too. The instructions with the version don't say it needs to be wiped, but since some of the other posts say it does, I'm not sure what or how to do it. Do I wipe the current version off? Do I use JL commander to wipe it?
Thanks!

THANK YOU THANK YOU!! I now have the previous version on, and it seems I did it right! I really dreaded trying to do this, but it actually was fine! So would I need to use JL Commander if I also ever want to upgrade?

You don't have to use it for upgrades, but it doesn't hurt.
