Unhappy i don't have a handheld code, now my BB won't unlock.

Please Login to Remove!

hi, few days ago i buyed a BB on internet @HI, yesterday i received it, i installed the CD on my laptop and it askes for a handheld code?! i tryed some things but it didnt worked.. so i canceled.. now it says the same thing on my BB, but i cant unlock my BB now.. if i want to unlock it it askes: typ 'blackberry' to go furder, than it asked for the handheld code?! I have only 1 change left or it erase my information.. and i cant find the handheld code, where can i find it?.. can someone help me please, my BB is Blackberry 8520 Curve White.

I don't know about "handheld code". But sounds like the blackberry is password protected. That is why you are being asked to enter 'blackberry'. You have run out of the allowed number of attempts. The blackberry will wipe all information and reset, and the password protection will be removed. (The device asking you to enter 'blackberry' is to allow you to see what you are typing, to give you a chance to realize you are not typing what you think, and make a correction.)

thanks, but where can i find that password? is it the IMEI number?

If we are talking about the password on the blackberry itself, to unlock the device, then it is a password that you, the user set. What I understand is you purchased a used (second hand) blackberry that was still password protected from the previous user.

If the above is the case, there's nothing you can do but enter the wrong password repeatedly until you max out the allowed number of attempts, and the device will wipe and reset. You will not be able to unlock the device unless you know the password.

Once it wipes and resets, you will be able to use it. You can set you own password, or use it without password protection.
