Default BES and BESX in the same environment?

Please Login to Remove!

Is it possible to run BES and BESX in the same environment? We are looking at this as a possibility to give users without institution owned devices the ability to wirelessly sync email/contacts/calendar/memos/tasks without needing to purchase additional licenses for institution owned devices.

As it is right now, they will just use BIS to get their work email, but that doesn't really help with anything else.

Thanks in advance!

I pinged RIM about this exact setup (appealing for personal liable usage)

- you can use the same service account
- seperate SQL DB
- seperate BAS

Wish it could just be part of the BB domain but maybe in the future.

What is the best way to use the same server with BES and BESX? Right now we have around 40 BES pro users and that is the only thing the server is running and it's a pretty powerful server. Would setting up BESX on VMWare be the best option? It's running 2003 otherwise I'd give Hyper-V a shot.

Yes a VM would be needed.
