Everything works good but I can't seem to force 3G on it. I have it on a T-Mobile branded 9700.

- I can browse using Rogers 3G or Wi-Fi
- Camera flash works (and holy crap there's like 8 scene modes?)
- I have not tried scannin a barcode

I uploaded first without removing the Tmo files to see what people talk about after that I did it with removing the Tmo files and it works great did a downgreat also and that also worked. But I run the OS6.0.

The first time it was loading allot as I suspected did a betterypull and I gave my phone the time to let it get used to the new OS. Its like the phone is human . Its sort of the Matrix style it needs to get used to something new u just loaded.

The battery pull is very importand after the update that's someting people forget to do after a update.

Batt live is amazing and speed also.
Browser is ultimate cool with the new tab function and the theme is wonderfull.

To bad they removed some browser options. Cause I like to switch between firefox and blackberry option. Hope they bring that back.

But for all let abuse this leak to the max cause I will. Luv it like I luv my bold 9700. Gonna buy that torch also cause that 1 is also awesome.

Blackberry rocks B#tches lol. I'm serious about that last sentense. OS6.0 best move of RIM.

Peace my bb friends

Default OS 6 Issues

Love new OS!

Bugs:
Copy paste issues in address book
Troubles when answering to an incoming call (need to press green button twice)
After auto on/off, ''failed initialization message'' (battery pull a must)

Unless prepared to accept issues above (and from other posts), do not mess with beta OS

You are looking in the wrong place.

c:\program files\common files\research in motion

The theme files are not under apploader. They are under shared.

Love love loving this OS build on my t-mob 9700 so far.
Had first issue last night - device restarted itself while I was listening to music, came back up and batt dropped from around 75% indicated to red-critical-wireless-off. Then a few mins later (searching for a charger) it was drained.

But apart from that one oddness... I have no issues with this build. Can occasionally be a tiny bit laggy, but I have a ton of stuff I could delete to help it out, and haven't lol

OK, installing this after lunch. Do I need to do the vendor.xml thing or is this not carrier dependent?

It only takes 10 seconds to delete the vendor.xml file... Why even ask? Just do it.

did that anyway, in mid install. I plan on only restoring email and contacts and get fresh os 6 apps as necessary.

Default Upgrade probs!

It looks like I'm one of the rare victims of OS6 upgrade probs! Here's what I did and where I'm at:

Phone info: Unlocked Bell (Canada) 9700, running on Rogers (has worked fine on v5.0.0x)

- installed the latest beta OS6 on my PC, from the BBForums link
- deleted all previous OS's from my PC
- wiped phone using BBSAK, clicked "Load OS", selected the only available option which was the freshly installed OS6 beta
- BBSAK immediately crashes, repeat process and crashes are consistent, rebooted PC several times, no change, BBSAK crashes each time
- loaded BB Desktop instead, it detects no OS so proposes to load one, I accept, it locates the OS6 beta, I accept, it then refuses, saying "not compatible with your device"

- I am now in the process of reinstalling OS5 via BBDM. At that point I will try either Updating via BBDM, or overwriting the existing OS with 6 via BBSAK

Fun n Games!

Thanks for any insight...

Update:
BBDM refused the available update ("incompatible") after reinstalling OS5; I am now forcing OS6 via the Apploader appproach, seems to be swallowing it so far...

The apploader should do the trick for you.

Update:
Apploader worked in principle (I am now running OS6) but I now have a persistent failure to update device drivers in Win 7 x64 (the little system tray popup message), which seems to be a false error because BBDM recognizes the device anyway... Will continue to mess around, but the OS works fine and the device has successfully registered on the network, so far so good...

Update:
Outlook Sync crashes at about 80% of complete, so I have no way to get my crap over. Am now doing an onboard security wipe and will start over. I do this for amusement (beta upgrades) but it's starting to get a bit boring...

I guess thast's why the say "Beta you than me" !

Update:
(sigh) going back to v5... don't know why this device is posing such dumbass problems. I guess the big question is whether the sync probs persist with the old OS...

Apploader should always be used unless you actually run into issues.

If you want a decent upgrade path. Secutiry wipe the phone, then do the OS 6 install without a backup.

Sounds like you made it way more complex than you needed to.

Hope it's finally working now though
