Default Upgrade from 8320 to 8900 or wait?

Please Login to Remove!

I have the 8320 (t-mobile) and am thinking about a new phone...unlikely to get a different carrier (I have a family plan + 10 unlimited text for family + 10% corporate discount) as it would cost at least $500 more a year for the same services.

Should I get the 8900 (I'm out of contract) or wait for a different blackberry or smart phone?

Thanks.

After losing my 8320 I got an 8900 and think it is an improvement in every way. Thinner, lighter, faster, better screen.

What do you use your BB for? The 8900 has GPS, more memory, a better camera, better screen resolution...

8900 is great and much slimmer/faster. You will be very happy. The only rumor I know of is the Driftwood for September, which really will only add 3G and a Bold like keyboard. The 8900 is a perfect device!!!!

I agree with all previous posts. Never had a problem with my 8900. I came from an 8300 so the 8900 in every aspect is better by leaps and bounds!

The screen on the 8900 is phenomenal, and it's much faster moving through apps/screens than any previous device. It still runs on EDGE though, so don't expect Web browsing to be ridiculously faster. Overall, I'd say it's definitely worth the upgrade from an 83xx.

I am in the same position, I tried out the G1, and what a crap box, battery lasted 12 hours and was dead, F that. I also have a 8320 and am T-mo, I wanted to hold out for the HTC Hero, but it looks like its going to Sprint. So 8900 for me. thanks thread.

Go for it, but pay the extra $50 for a one year contract. By this time next year there will be affordable 3G Blackberry options and two years is too long to wait for a new phone, ever.

I upgraded from the 8320 to the 8900 and it was worth every penny. Everything runs incredibly smooth, the screen is gorgeous, and GPS is awesome when your on the go as much as I am. Not to mention its nice not having to pull my battery everyday. I still have 89-95mb of memory left after the leak does its damage.

And even if it were true that Tmobile is getting the 8520, it's still a step backwards. The only nice thing on that might be the optical trackpad, but camera and screen resolution are no better.

My vote is also to go for the 8900 especially since you are staying with Tmobile. I'm very jealous of it myself as a coworker recently got one and it blows the 8320 away in many areas.

Well, I went ahead and got one...

First one had track ball issues...slightly sticky and non responsive. So they send another one, with a defective screen!

0/2...they're sending a third today.

Like the phone though!
