Hi,

I have an 8300 with "unlimited Blackberry" tariff and BIS service. However, I do have to pay for WAP browsing use at quite a high rate.

I'm confused between the two. Can I use BIS to retrieve updates, IM, etc. or is the BIS just concerned with push email and nothing else? Presumably using the browser would use WAP, but would using programmes such as IM+, Pocketday, etc. use data via BIS or WAP? If it's BIS can I somehow disable WAP so I don't accidentally end up with a huge bill.

I've tried the search facility on this forum, with no helpful results. Looking through the options on my device I don't see anything that would obviously help.

Basically, BIS is only a method to get pop mail on your BB. WAP is a browsing protocal. You also have an HTML browser that uses the unlimited Data - some IM uses data such as BB messenger. I think Pocketday uses the data too.
