Default Mail Connector / SBS Exchange / Outlook 2003

Please Login to Remove!

I have a Nextel Blackberry provided by my employer, which uses a BES for our corporate email. I also have several POP accounts, which I have now connected to BIS 2.0. At home I have a Microsoft Small Business Server 2003with the SBS version of Exchange 2003. I would like to get my email from it as well. I have tried accessing it through OWA, but my URL gets rewritten with a bunch of other parameters, and BIS can't seem to connect to it. I have downloaded the Mail Connector, and that seems to be working for my incoming mail, although I have read on this forum that this is not really recommended. The mail connector is also synching my mail correctly, as well as marking it read and deleting it fine, with a couple of exceptions that are not a big deal. My problem is sending, I think I should be able to do this, but when I compose on my BB, it appears to send it, but it never arrives, and is not in my Exchange Sent Mail folder.

Any help would be appreciated

when you send the email waht service book was it sent w/ (under "sent using")? do you ever get an error message back (it can take a whiole sometimes)?

the only reason mail connector is not really recommended is because it needs to always be running and conencted to the internet - some ppl don't want to leave their computer on all the time *shrug*

Default no error messages

I am using the address from my home exchange server as the send from. The BB puts the clock and then the checkmark next to the message, but then nothing.

My computer is on all the time anyway, I usually remote desktop into it to read and send email from my other accounts, but if I can get that all working on the BB, then life will be good.

have you resent your self the service books (from the BIS site)? how about uninstalling mail connector and deleting the account; restarting the computer and setting it back up?

Default haven't gone that far yet.

I can give that a try, I am just a bit nervous, because I did have trouble installing the MC the first few times I tried it.

I'd love to set it up using OWA, but after I type my url to owa, it appends too much stuff to fit in the BIS account setup url field.

have you tried using the URL that shows up after you sign into your account?
it's normally just http(s)://theurl.com/exchange

Default OWA Address

It is very strange.

I type in: (without the space after the colon)
https: //myservername.dns2go.com/exchange
and the address bar changes to:
https: //myservername.dns2go.com/exchweb/bin/auth/owalogon.asp?url=https://myservername.dns2go.com/exchange&reason=0

There is not enough room in the BIS setup screen for that second url, and it doesn't work using the short one. Any thoughts on this front will remove the need for the MC.

hmm...it should work w/ just https: //myservername.dns2go.com/exchange
have you tried https: //myservername.dns2go.com/exchange/?

also, make sure your entering the "email account" properly
to find this, hold your mouse over the inobx in your OWA

in the bottom left of the browser it will display the URL - the email account name is after the word exchange and before the # sign

only other thing i can think of is that there's too much email in the inbox...if there's over 1000 movea bunch of the email to a subfolder and try again

Cheers

Does OTW allow "sync" - ie mark as read back from BB to Exchange?

We have 6 users and really want this funct?

How does OTW compare to just adding a forward from Exchange to the BB email addy?

Cheers in advance!

OWA allows sync back to the OWA itself IF your on BIS 2.0
Forwarding rule will never sync back
