Default Please assist w/ Bold connect to desktop?

Please Login to Remove!

I cannot seem to get Desktop Manager and my Bold to connect. It had once before, but has been a while. Updated from Desktop version 4.7 to the new one, 5.01, and still nothing. When I do plug the phone in via USB, my computer sees it as I can access my BB via windows explorer. Am not sure of which version of OS is on my phone, but don't want to update it until/unless I can backup my phone and it's contents prior to anyhow. What can I do here? Thanks much.

Wirelessly posted (White and Nerdy)

Does the desktop manager shop it is connected in the lower part where it shows the pin? Try going to options and then to the connection. Make sure its set to USB.

Also, use different usb ports. On a desktop, use the rear ones as they are a direct motherboard connection

No, it doesn't show it there. I have gone in and tried to manually set to USB, but still nothing as far as the desktop software goes. Have tried a couple of ports, but wilkl try a couple of more. Am putting in a blue tooth dongle too and see what I can do that route too. If anyone else has more they can add, please do so. Thanks much thus far!

Okay... I was able to connect via Bluetooth, but still weird that through a USB cable through various ports that I cannot. Would still like to figure that out. Anyone? I know though that the bluetooth is a bit more handy... for now.

You can only sync via bluetooth, not upgrade/add or remove applications and I think backup too.

Do a search for "bb storage activation new.rar"

That fixed the usb vs. Desktop Manager problem for me

Is or at some point when you connected it in the past and it asked if you would like to use as mass storage, did you check the do not ask again in the future and then clicked yes to use as mass storage. Shot in the dark here but if you have a memory card installed, try removing it or disabling mass storage in the settings and connect your BB to see if it is recognized by the DM that way.
