Unhappy Cannot Install SP5

Please Login to Remove!

When attempting to install Service Pack 5 for BES v.4.1, I receive an error that states, the database update has failed>error executing a SQL statement.

Any ideas on how to resolve this. I attempted to install SP4 and received the same error.

I am on a single BES 4.1 > Exchange> 95 devices> MSDE locally.

Search BlackBerry Technical Solution Center for that error, there are a couple of KB's for it.

I had the same error while upgrading to service pack 5.

This is what i did:

- When installing the SP5, i created a new blank database, naming it BESMgmt2.
- Let the upgrade finish and services start.
- Detach the BESMgmt2 database and delete it completely.
- Goto Blackberry Server Configuration.
- On the Database Connectivity tab, goto Change Database.
- Provide the name of the local server and the old database (BESMgmt).

Make sure all service are restarted, including the SQL Server.

Hope it helps.

Thanks

Mazi - Im doing this upgrade this weekend. Can you confirm this is how I should go about this If I run into this problem.

1) Backup the current database.
2) create a new database via the blackberry server config tool.
3) install the upgrade
4) delete the database you just created and point this back to the original?

Cheers
