Default Storm for girlfriend advice

Please Login to Remove!

Greetings all. Long time listener, first time caller.

As subject line says, girlfriend is interested in a Storm to replace her 8310. Carrier she uses is AT&T.

Obviously, purchasing a device unlocked (or unlocking it myself) will have to be done; no concerns on that front.

What I am looking for here is which Storm would be best suited....the 9500 or the 9530....since both can apparently work w/AT&T.

I contemplated holding out for the 9520, but if I read correctly, it doesn't have GPS....correct?

Many thanks

Where did you read that the 9520 won't have GPS?

If you are going to use it on ATT, I would initially recommend the 9500, you will have a few less issues than the 9530, however both devices on ATT will only get the EDGE signal--no 3G.

I have both the 9500 and 9530 on ATT, and the 9500 has less EDGE signal issues than the 9530.

Thank you for the reply.

I can't recall where I read the 9520 would not have GPS....maybe I dreamed it someplace.

I did find a pic online of a Rogers promo thing for the 9520....no mention of GPS:

You would think if GPS were on the device, they would list it as one of the main selling points.

If it does have GPS, then I'll hold out for a 9520.
