Question ESM 2003 Vs. MAPI Client and Collaboration Data Objects 1.2.1

Please Login to Remove!

My BES server is currently partnered with an Exchange 2007 SP1 server. When we migrated over to Exchange 2007 from 2003 the BB documentation did not require us to unistall ESM 2003 and use MAPI Client and Collaboration Data Objects 1.2.1. However new installs and installls that have ESM 2000 must upgrade to MAPI Client and Collaboration Data Objects 1.2.1. Is there any benefits to using MAPI Client and Collaboration Data Objects 1.2.1 over the ESM 2003?

The benefit is to stay consistent; that is all.

As Microsoft updates MAPI / CDO components for Exchange you should keep the BES updated with that same version. The exception to this which RIM has publicized (by supporting exchange 2003 esm / cdo/mapi), is as you have it implemented now.

Personally, I'd remove the 2003 stuff totally and stick with the 1.2.1 release.

So all I need to do is unistall ESM 2003 and install MAPI Client and Collaboration Data Objects 1.2.1?
