Default Text and Email messages changing languages when typing (yòur, Ü, etc)

Please Login to Remove!

I have no idea what is up, but when I type "your" or "you", sometimes my blackberry will change it to "yòur" or "yöur". Also the word "up" gets changed to "uP".

Anyone know how to fix this? I have everything set to English (US), and I don't even see other languages installed. I checked the auto dictionary and neither is listed, but the blackberry makes these changes automatically, and not every time.

This is a brand new 8900 by the way.

Thanks!

Yes. You sound like customer service lol.

What's really weird is that it doesn't happen EVERY time, just randomly. Sometimes it is with the german accent, then other times in the same email it will be the spanish accent.

Join date 2005 I think a battery pull is something I considered. God this is frustrating! I can't really replicate it, because it truly seems to happen at "random".

This is so annoying! Happens on texts and emails still. I even upgraded the OS.

It is most likely NOT an error in the phone. I sometimes had this problem as well until I realized/found out that holding down the letter key and rolling the trackball changes that letter into whatever foreign language versions there are available. With the u and the e buttons being relatively close to the trackball while moving around the keyboard when typing quickly, it is easy to inadvertently produce a keystroke and a trackball roll simultaneously.

Hope this answers your issue

So is there a fix? I notice that a lot of times when I type anything ending in y, I end up dragging along the y as I type because I guess I hit the track ball. How do I disable every other language?
