So I have the blackberry pearl by tmo and was wondering if anyone knows if tmobile plans on adding any more towers in the near future to make their coverage a little better...

You'd have to ask TMobile. They haven't added anything new in my area in several years.

I have a friend that had T-Mobile and said he was going to switch to verizon due to the coverage and they told him they would send surveyors out to see if it would be possible to add a tower to the area. He said it wasn't worth it and switched anyway. It may be worth a try?!?

I used to have verizon and switched to tmo for the bb pearl. The coverage was better with verizon but their phones constantly broke and they had crappy customer service. I loveeee tmobile but I just wish their coverage was not so spotty. That's why I was wondering if it plans on improving cuz then I wont have to switch back to verizon.

I think they added one in my area about a month after I switched. Coverage definitely improved from one bar to three/four bars inside my home.

Agree with JC that you will have to talk to TMO....but then who do you ask? How do you track down the individual who can tell you?

For what it's worth, coverage has slowly expanded in my area. EDGE availabilty depends on where you are here, but I discovered it at home after not getting it ever before. Also, I used to only get 1-2 bars in my house, but noticed three bars consistantly last night. I'm getting signal in areas I didn't get it before...

Of course my experience tells you nothing about your situation, except maybe look at your environment from the perpective of TMO. We have a number of military installations along the coast here. It's a big tourist destination. Lots of new construction..... Probably your best gauge of coverage expansion in the future is that kind of stuff.... Is your area growing?

If you speak with CSR you can submit a request for a tower, or even have them check for future plans in your area or ongoing construction.

If you bee eye tee see aych enough, they'll construct towers.

But it's pretty much up in the air, shot in the dark, hit and miss.

I sent tmo an email asking about more towers so we will see.

The area is definetly growing! NJ is getting more expensive and more overcrowded lol!

Yeah...the problem of course is you are likely to get the answer the other party thinks you want to hear, and sometimes you can't tell if it's that or an honest answer. But if your area is growing, I say be patient if you are otherwise happy with TMO; otherwise switch to what serves you best.

I haven't had any problems with coverage in Philly or the surrounding areas. When I signed up, TMO mapped out where some of the towers are, which happened to be close by.

Also Philly is a metropolitan area. Generally they don't have coverage issues.

I haven't had no issues with tmo coverage here in Los Angeles area. I actually had verizon and experienced more dead spots than I do with tmo. I get full reception inside my house.

Ps ....... Raider nation!
