I have a Sprint BB 8830 and am trying to setup Bluetooth on it to sync and use as a modem WITHOUT A CABLE. I know there are issues with Vista, but that is not my issue. my beef is that my Sprint phone does not show under services the desktop connectivity and bypass services. without these I can not sync it. I have an associate that is with Verizon and has the 8830 and we have set it up just fine. anyone know a fix for this so that I can get this going?

Make sure In Bluetooth options of your BB it is set Discoverable-YES, And Light is Blinking on BB if it is turned ON while parity established.

I too have the exact same prob.....unfortunately SPRINT SUCKS!! It seems I read in another thread which I am believing more and more as I research this regarding the 4.3 handheld software is required for this which SPRINT still has not gotten to or does not know when they will ever get to it....

Let's keep each other posted on our findings.....

Make sure that you have the correct BT stack on your computer. I don't know which one -- I think Toshiba is the one you need -- but some searching on this site for Bluetooth stack and tethering may solve that problem. It can be done; that I know. I don't know the precise answer because I simply use the cable.

Do you think the BT modem issue with the Sprint blackberry's and Vista is a Vista prob or a Sprint prob or both?

The only services I can get my laptop to relinquish are Audio and Headset.

No other modem ops are avail in DUN.

I am ready to pull my hair out.....can you shed any light?

I searched "DUN Bluetooth Vista" and got this link for you:

Lots of Mac users who are using DUN under BT, but I did catch a Vista user in there as well. As I said, I don't use it -- a cable is OK for my needs.
