Default Any way to calibrate the screen?

Please Login to Remove!

My Storm is on a two week trial but I currently feel like giving it back after one day. The one and only problem (but a massive one) appears to be that I cannot calibrate the screen and so thekeyboard in particular is as good as useless.

My typing is incredibly inaccurate as I find the software picking up (for example) a "y" when I put my finger on the "t". I also find some menu selections wrong.I have tried three different machines and the problem is the same so I don't think I just have a "bad one".

This could easily be solved by realibrating the screen to the shape of my fingers but there appears no way of doing this.

Furthermore, I can find no explanation of what the three screen parameters (hover period, tap interval and swipe sensitivity) actually mean and what the impact is of changing them. Maybe these would help but I have no idea.

Can anyone shed light to stop me giving up on what otherwise seems a great device?

Wirelessly posted (8320 Titanium)

I would assume that your accuracy would get better the more you play with the device. When I went from an 8700 to a Curve the keyboard was a little bit smaller and I found that I was mis-typing quite a bit, but after a couple of weeks it was no longer a problem. But, maybe the click screen is different.

I was told that there is no calibration utility for the Storm because it uses thermal technology and therefore doesn't require X and Y coordinates so to speak

If you go to Options>Screen/Keyboard> Theres key rate, touchscreen tap, hover, and swipe settings to play with.

I have the same issue as you - your example of pressing Y getting a T. Whilst the blue backlight helps before the click, after 24 hours of usage, I've now adapted my way of using it. Mainly, I feel the calibration needs me to type high and to the right of the actual option i require. The options mentioned above don't seem to help with the calibration unfortunately.

Can someone put into common terms what these words mean and accomplish?
