My daughter has been receiving harrassing text messages. Is there a simple way to block individual text messages?

Make sure the sender knows that this behaviour is unacceptable and if it continues you will pursue this matter with the local Police, particularly if the messages are threatening.

I'm not sure about technologically blocking....never had to do that, but I would be interested in the answer.

I know you can have your carrier block the number. I think there is also a program you can use to only get texts from the people you want. But I say bust the person and let the cops take care of it.

not all providers can block just a certain number. Some providers have to block texting completely. The easiest way to fix this is by telling the person to lay off... if it continues, take it to the police and you should be able to get a subpoena and they can go from there... otherwise, she might have to (unfortunately) change her number

You can enable the firewall to block text messages from senders that are not in her address book. Remove the individual from contacts and enable SMS blocking on the firewall. The disavantage is that she will not be able to receive a text from anyone that is not in her address book.
