Default T-Mobile BWC Upgrade? What new functionality?

Please Login to Remove!

A friend of mine mentioned that his Verizon rep told him that within the next 2 months Verizon BWC users will be able to synch their calendar wirelessly without the need for the BES.

I found this fascinating and exciting because this would really extend the functionality of the BWC to people like me that cannot justify the BES but want to synch all wirelessly rather than having to cable synch to a desktop PC.

Anybody heard anything like this for TMO's implementation of the BWC especially now that the OS' have been upgraded to 4.0 along with the desktop software.....

thx

I've heard nothing about calendar sync, but in my experience information about upcoming BWC upgrades is pretty hard to come by.

Just the other day I called T-Mobile with a problem viewing attachments on my 7100t, and was transferred to RIM support. While working on the problem, the RIM guy told me that, even following the 4.0 upgrade, DOC and PDF attachments would be supported, but JPEGs were not. I thanked him and hung up.

Later, after I heard that T-Mobile had reopened the TCP ports, I was fooling around with MidPSSH and realized I didn't have my APN configured correctly. After I fixed it, viewing JPEG attachments suddenly worked.

This, after the RIM (not T-Mobile!) support guy specifically told me that JPEG attachments would not, could not work. So who knows?

JMFO,

After you make certain that your APN is set to wap.voicestream.com (Settings/TCP) you may need to go to your BWC page (http://www.t-mobile.com/bwc/), login, look at your 'Profile' and send the Blackberry Web Client Service Book again. I deleted my old one before I had the new one sent but I don't know if that's necessary. If you decide to delete it, it can be accessed through Settings/Service Book. You are looking for Web Client [CMME]. Highlight it, press the thumbwheel and choose Delete.

It got mine working. I have a 7100t and OS 4.0.
