Was told the same thing by PI support
I've got an 8830, and have been having probs when syncing on about 50% of my PI syncs. Sometimes I get a fatal error message as it starts to sync. What's worse is when I get the fatal error near the end of a sync. When that happens, it wipes out all the PI data and preferences on the BB. Then I need to resync from my computer and reload all the data - and the settings have to be re-entered manually. PI support tolld me this past weekend that it's a BB Desktop Manager issue, and that closing and restarting Desktop Manager should allow the BB to sync PI. That's not too bad of a solution for those cases where the error pops up at the beginning of a sync, but doesn't help at all for those cases where my PI data gets wiped out. I have no problems at all syncing any other apps - either 3rd party or native.
