Hello. I am a new BB Storm user and was looking for a calendar that would function more like the Datebook5 app I used with my Palm. I bought Pocket Informant. It loaded fine but there is a problem when I try to sync it to my BB calendar and tasks. It only picks up a few (seemingly random) events and tasks but misses all of the rest. I tried getting help from support at Pocket Informant but they said it is a BB problem. My phone support folks tell me they can't give any help because it is a 3rd party app.

Anyone have any idea how I can get the sync function to work between Pocket Informant and the BB? Or does anyone have info about a calendar/organizer that works more like Datebook5? Unfortunately, there is not a Datebook version for the BB. Would really appreciate some help. I am so longing for Datebook and would pay dearly for it or something like it.

I've got an 8830, and have been having probs when syncing on about 50% of my PI syncs. Sometimes I get a fatal error message as it starts to sync. What's worse is when I get the fatal error near the end of a sync. When that happens, it wipes out all the PI data and preferences on the BB. Then I need to resync from my computer and reload all the data - and the settings have to be re-entered manually. PI support tolld me this past weekend that it's a BB Desktop Manager issue, and that closing and restarting Desktop Manager should allow the BB to sync PI. That's not too bad of a solution for those cases where the error pops up at the beginning of a sync, but doesn't help at all for those cases where my PI data gets wiped out. I have no problems at all syncing any other apps - either 3rd party or native.

I have been performing the sync just on the BB from the PocketInformant application. How are you performing the sync using the BB Desktop Manager. Bear with me if this is a "dummy" question. I am a new BB user.

same question as the previous post: how are you syncing w/ PI? You should have no problem syncing directly from PI to BB and back from with in PI's options/sync.

I am syncing PI with Outlook on my laptop via usb cable using Desktop Manager. Had been using DM 4.7. Have now updated to DM 5.0. No difference. Same stuff is happening.

Sync the BB with Outlook/DM and then sync PI and the BB internally. Works much better that way. Was a bug in the Beta that really didn't get addressed properly.
