On my 9530 when I press the BB button from the HOME SSCREEN there is no listing for KEYBOARD.
Is there any way that I can correct this? If so please tell me!

Why would you need keyboard while you are on Home Screen? So far, every application that requires keyboard seems working fine as expected on both 9530 (.328) and 9550 (.428) from my experience.

You are right but the event log is access this way as far as I know. Home screen and hit a sequence of letters I think LGLG something. Anyway there's not much use for the keyboard in this screen but its always good to have options

Thanks for the reminder. I did remember that I read somewhere about the access the log files for diagnose purpose..... maybe that is the reason why they took it out, and hidden the function somewhere else now from the public.....

The easiest way to access this function is to set your left convenience key to display keyboard. However it will only display in PORTRAIT mode. You can also access the event log by typing: "/"/

The other way is to press:
BB button > BB button > Options > BB button > Show Keyboard

One thing I noted, since 5.0.0.419, I can't access the Event Log in Landscape mode. I can only access it in Portrait mode.

umm If you want a keyboard on the menu screen I believe you have to assign one of your convience keys to Virtual Keyboard. that works for me.

With version .451 I can't access the virtual keyboard even with convenient key while on apps screen. :\

i tried using the convenience key it did not open virtual keyboard. is there any other way to access event log

For me, the following is now working on 5.0.0.607, in a Storm2 9550.

Set-up a convenience key to pop-up the Virtual Keyboard.
Set-up the full keyboard to appear on portrait mode.

In the home screen (portrait) open the keyboard with the convenience key.

Now you've got to enter " \ " \
However, you MUST press the '!?123' key before EACH character.
