Hi guys, all of a sudden my battery will not charge above 85%. Never had this problem before. Anyone know what the deal is???

Pull the battery and hold the power button for 15 sec. See if that fixes it.

How long have you had your battery for? Have you tried another battery to see if it also charges to 85%?

Yes, and it never hurts to have a spare battery. If you ever buy a spare, buy an OEM battery.

Those knockoff's don't last as long.

Get a new battery.

OEM = original equipment manufacturer.

I agree with the advice to avoid aftermarket batteries.

Not referring to your current battery. Batteries wear out, and some small percentage fail early. Even OEM. Unless you have applications running in the background and accessing data all the time, it sounds like the battery may be bad. The fact that it seems to not take a full charge indicates battery, too. But when you get a new battery, resist the temptation to save a bunch of money.

You CAN save money when buying an OEM battery. You just have to look for the right one for the right price.

You can spend up to $50 at the AT&T store or you can search online. I bought a bunch of them only because I found some OEMs for as cheap as a few bucks but also found out many of them are junk or used. However, I did stumble upon one online store that always sends me top quality perfect products for my BB including batteries for about $10. Do a search for "SFPlanet".

Thanks, everybody. I just got ATT to send me a new battery for free b/c the phone is still under warranty. I'm really ticked of at them, though. I had thought about using this as a good time to upgrade to the Bold, but they wouldn't give me the discounted price. They say I have to have had the phone for two full years, but that's bologna b/c when I got the Curve we had only been with ATT for six months and they gave me an "exceptional upgrade" where you pay $50 extra dollars over the lowest price. I'm going to call again today b/c I've found that this can be very subjective. It depends on who you get on the phone.
