The thing with the Storm is that it is somewhat new... Most people who came from another BB have used it for an extended period of time, gone through the learning curve, and gotten used to it. To say that your typing isn't as fast now is expected if your fingers are still expecting the solid qwerty keyboard. After almost four months with the storm, I type about as fast as I did with the keyboard on my 8830. I type with both thumbs and in landscape mode. I rarely misstype and with the 109 OS there is no lag on my keyboard.. Switching from portrait to landscape takes at most 2 seconds, and I routinely type long messages like I am doing now from my BB to message boards. I'd say once you get used to the storm keyboard, you'll love the storm.
