That's a new one....I would delete your service books for your email account, and then resend them.

I'm only having this problem when my bank sends my daily balance alerts, all other emails are fine, is it something on the banks end?

do like john said and see if it reoccurs tomorrow. if it does, i'm sure he or others may have another idea.

do your reports arrive directly to your handset mailbox or via another account being polled/forwarded?

Try routing to another email address. I assume that you are using the carrier supplied email address for this now?

Hi I've had this problem for ages - seems to be a problem between my Work Outlook and my carriers email.

See the below (extracts from posts on CrackBerry) - hope someone can help!

I appear to have changed a setting by mistake...!

My problem is that I cannot now read rich text emails, which I could before. They appear to be a lot of squares now.

I have been told by someone at work to change a setting to "rich text" on my BIS server, however I cannot find a place to change it.

Please help!

-----

Hi all,

This is now really frustrating!!

I have pinpointed the problem as being between my office Outlook and my t-mobile Instant Email. An email sent directly to Instant Email email address displays ok.

If I forward an email with the problem to a non - Blackberry account, the content that was squares on the BB appears as Chinese writing.

Also, I tried a ROM upgrade to 4.5, however this hasn;t helped. Have also tried resending service books etc.

Help please? Anyone?!

----

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ps since upgrading to 4.5 it is now vertical stripes, not squares?

--------------

Does anybody have any ideas? The thread at crackberry is (can't link posts because of low post total, but just search for squares, it has been posted under my userame!)

Thanks very much, how can I change any settings in Outlook to remedy this forwarding problem? I tried changing outgoing format to Unicode (UTF-8) but this hasn't helped.

This problem is still not resolved for me, it started when rim did the 2.5 bis upgrade, i've talked to the bank and blackberry techs at centennial wireless and no one knows why it is encrypted.

Default how to set up email on BB.

Hi, I was wondering if you are able to set up an email accnt that would go directly to your BB if you are only paying the cheapest internet service, or would you need to get the $20 service?

thank you

Does the bank have the option of sending pure text as opposed to html? If so, try that as an intermediate diagnostic step.

Plain text emails come through fine for me, as do "Outlook" HTML emails. The problem for me is any "fancy" fonts, or standard graphic-led HTML emails.

Conversly, any emails on my personal account (via Google) are fine, including HTML!

When I forward a corrupted email to GMAIL they come out with various oriental characters!

It's possible the mail is being sent with that encoding. Changing your Outlook settings won't affect what the bank is sending.

thats what I don't get - the same emails being sent to my personal accounts (non-Outlook) display fine. Also, if sent directly to my instantemail. tmobile BIS address, they work fine.

It seems to be a prob between outlook and BIS?

It's been so frustrating...!!!

No, it's a problem that the Blackberry can't handle UTF-16. I doubt seriously if any mail server is changing the UTF when forwarding it. What do the headers in the original message on Outlook on your PC say the encoding is? If it's UTF-16 there, then it's the Blackberry that cannot handle the encoding.

Thanks, will VPN in and establish the headers of emails in Outlook. But just to clarify, the same emails (from the same senders) are displaying in the email app in BlackBerry when received at personal (googlemail) accounts.
