Default use gps and talk at the same time

Please Login to Remove!

Hi there

Is it possible to use the GPS on the Curve and talk (speaker) at the same time?

This is important to me. I have my Curve on a holder in my car and use the GPS a lot. I'd like to be able to get calls and talk, while keeping the image from the GPS on the screen giving me directions.

Is this possible?

Thanks

NRP

Unless you have already cached the maps, no. The maps require a data connection which cannot be run at the same time as a voice connection.

That's where having access to 3G comes in handy. If this is very important consider upgrading to the 3G phones such as the Bold.

I use my Curve with the TeleNav GPS and I do make and receive phonecalls without a problem. The only caution is that if you need to reroute (like miss a turn or something) then the GPS will not recalculate until after you finihs a call. This is the only downfall I have encountered when using my Curve as a GPS unit.

Thank you RJK

How to you do that? Everytime I answer a call the GPS image is replaced and I can't see my route anymore.

I set my left convenience key to application switcher (options-screen/keyboard).

When you want to make a phonecall from within GPS, you hit the left convenience key. Scroll over to home screen. Then dial your number. While in the call, hit the left convenience key and scroll over to GPS icon.

When you receive your call and want to go back to GPS, hit convenience key and scroll over to GPS icon

You use the convenience key like you would with alt-tab in Windows; to toggle between applications.

Good luck
