Default How to install BBLight

Please Login to Remove!

Am fairly new to the Blackberry, and just downloaded BBLight.

How do you install it? It doesn't appear to be a valid file type in the App Loader...

you can download over the air from your blackberry web browser at http://blackberrytools.sourceforge.net/OverTheAir/

Zipfile for app loader is at http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...ease_id=323714

My problem with downloading things from over the air is how limited bandwidth I have with my data package.

Dude, its 10K. If this is a problem for you, you will have all kinds of other issues. I would look at a better plan.

it is a valid app if you use the right download sounds like you downloaded the ota file to your desktop. Go to the FAQs and look for it under killer software. Find the alx file

I actually choose the alx file in the app loader on my desktop and I got the same message: "doesn't appear to be a valid file type..."

I've gotten the program installed, however, it only enables the dim light to turn on whenever there is activity. Is there a way that i would be able to get the bright light to turn on instead?

asc1998, I may make a thread about that.

I don't get many emails on my personal email address (which is what the BB is setup for). I do no email surfing whatsoever. The plan I signed up for is .5 MB per month. Sounds like nothing, but I don't use it for big files, etc (only maximum of 10 emails sent/received per day). You think I will go over .5 MB?

I don't think so... Not all BBs have the two stage back lighting. I don't think there is a way to get it to go straight to bright.

It would be a nice enhancement for the next version of BBLight to enable the ability to go straight to 'bright'.

I wish someone with some knowledge would tweak the bb light program. It is almost perfect. Only changes would be to change brightness setting and to get it to stay on while connected to external power, like my car, in the holder!
