Default Pioneer Radio Deck

This sounds like it should be in bluetooth, but it seems like a pretty quiet group, so please read on...

Was looking at a Pioneer double DIN deck at the stereo store the other day. The salesdrone said that it had some specific features that work with a smart phone. "You mean bluetooth?", I asked. He said no, it was desiged to work specifically with other features of the phone. "So iPhone and Android only, I'll bet.", I said, holding up my 9810. He said it works with BB as well. I think that you install some software on the phone to make it work. Beyond that I'm not sure what he meant as I didn't have time for him to set it up and show me.

Anyone heard of anything like this?
