Hi bit of a strange one this......basically I have a Blackberry (several) supplied by Vodafone UK. They are all locked to Vodafone and have their branding on them. Recently sent one off for repair and was told that it had "US listed" on the sticker on the reverse and so was not a UK handset.
I've checked all of them and they all have this same sticker, I even have a personal O2 Blackberry which was supplied by O2 UK and again it has US listed on the back.
I have a feeling every Blackberry in the world has US listed on it. Any ideas?

Sorry I should have made that more clear. When you remove the battery there is a sticker inside the phone with the imei, pin number etc. On this is says "US listed".

This is simply a marking that it is approved for US in the United States. There should also be a CE marking indicating approval for use in the EU.

Thanks for that, I thought it must be something like that. I think they may be getting confused by telling me it is not a UK handset.

They are in fact confused. All BlackBerry handsets are US listed.

You will also find a UL ( Underwriters Lab ) marking on any electrical product sold in the US. I would be a bit suspicious of the repairer if they just discovered this on a BB. I would wonder how many they actually repair.

Yes worrying! Usually they are very good, it is the repair centre that Vodafone nationally use in the UK so they should know what they are doing. I think I simply got someone who was new or perhaps they were looking for an excuse not to repair!
