Yes. If you set everything to vendorID ="102" that means it will load that file onto device with a vendor code of 102.

Take, for instance, this line of code:

<fileset Colour="True" Java="1.0" series="8100" _vendorID="102">
<files>
net_rim_theme_102a_icon_240x260_b.cod

The above will load the listed theme onto a Cingular device but no other.

If you change it to the following it will load on all devices:

<fileset Colour="True" Java="1.0" series="8100">
<files>
net_rim_theme_102a_icon_240x260_b.cod

Hope that makes sense. In Jibi's edited .alx's he simply removes all references to the _vendorID="xxx" in the theme section.

Okay, I just wanted to make sure I didn't screw anything up and it sounds like I didn't.

Makes perfect sense.

My vendor id is 102 (Cingular) and I changed all the vendor IDs to 102.

Everything loaded fine.

It'll work fine for any Cingular/ATT device but it won't work on another carrier's device.

The BlackBerry Curve I purchased is from at&t but I am going to have it unlocked and use it to the Rogers Wireless network in Canada. Because the handheld is from at&t would I be able to use the modified .alx file lgreenberg posted because the vendor codes are 102 or would I have to modify it to put the Rogers Wireless vendor code because I am using their network with an unlocked device?

Default Blackberry.alx

Here is a Blackberry.alx that will work on any Curve with this OS version.

Default Works great

Installed and everything seems good. I enjoy the Vodofone Today the best, but the Rogers theme is nice and clean too. The Wizard Icon in Rogers doesn't go away for some reason. Wish they had the Vodofone Icon. Thanks for the .ALX file!

Are all themes similar for the Curve as they are in the most recent OS/alx files for the Pearl? If not could someone post a screen shot and list any new features.

Thanks

The same. There are a couple new Zen themes but just different backgrounds/icons. Same layout.

Today Plus has to be downloaded from BlackBerry HELP!. It's not included in the supplied vendor themes.

Yes, except it's not available yet.

No themes are there yet for the 8300.

There is a way....it would take a little collective effort. I'm guessing the 8800 Today Plus theme would work on the 8300. If someone has it on the 8800 they could use the switch device wizard to make the 3rd party app backup as posted here somewhere. That makes a .cod for all the 3rd party stuff. Extract that .cod and load it onto the 8300. My bet is it's the same theme since the blackberry.alx refers to the same themes for 8800 and 8300. I'd do it but my Today Plus is for the Pearl--not compatible I'm thinking.

Great idea, now all we need is someone to get it in gear...

Never mind. I guess it's not available on the 8800 either. Hopefully RIM will make it available soon on the BlackberryHelp site soon.

Hi!

I received my Curve from T-Mobile Germany today. The Firmware states:

v.4.2.2.90 Platform 2.4.0.35

So the .90 is higher than the .89 and the Platform .35 is lower than the .39 in the dutch file.

Which one is the newer version?

Greetings from Germany
