Default How much should the curve cost?

Please Login to Remove!

I am seeing all these posts for people paying 200-225. My guess is most on the board don't wait for 2 yrs to upgrade but like me buy a new one when they come out. My last purchase was my 8800 so I am not eligible. I can get 40% off the "retail" price through my corp discount. When I phone business sales they say retail is 750 or something outrageous and you get more discounts vs the 40pc. They also said their "retail" is higher then in the stores.

How much should I be paying?

$750 retail!

They can afford to give 40% off of that for sure!

$449 from AT&T over the internet
$499 from your local corp AT&T store.

In a AT&T Corp store you will have to pay the full $499.

I paid $450 at an AT&T retail store. That was their "full price".

I paid $200 through at&t premier. We get two upgrades/year. It would be $300 through premier without the upgrade discount.

I paid $449 at my local store, too. But two other "corp" stores are charging $499! They said they do not have to match the price on the internet.

Search arounf but on Monday. mopst will be lucky to even find one, by next Monday there should be plenty!

Same.

But I think I got "lucky." They didn't know what the full retail price was. I told them what it was on the Cingular web site and that's what the manager agreed to charge me.

I know when I picked mine up they were having a horrible time trying to ring it up. They said something like their system was not updated.

I told them I was not leaving with out the 8300. The went on to their AT&T site to check the price ($449), I do not know what they did to get the computer to ring it up but I walked out with the 8300.

Yes, exactly the same.

At first the salesperson told my wife she couldn't sell her the phone at full retail since they didn't know the price.

My wife called me and I told her that was not going to work. She got the manager and we told her what the price was on the AT&T web site. She agreed to let us buy the phone for that price. This was after I had driven down to the store earlier in the day because a sales person told me the phone was there when in fact it wasn't.

There was no way I was going to be made to drive to the store for no phone.

When I bought my 8800, it was from a corporate store and while others were reporting a price of $ 549, the store I went to had a display sign showing the non-contract price of $ 599 which is what I paid.

I have no idea whether that sign was used only for the first few weeks (which makes sense for the store) or whether different stores are allowed to establish different pricing.

FYI

Officially ATT corporate Suggested retail is 469.00 of course this could vary by market! COR store managers have the ability to adjust pricing at their discretion

Oops! I take that back. I had ordered on Friday evening for $200. I just looked at our Premiere site now and it is free. So I call AT&T and got my refund applied to bill. SWEEEEEEEEEET! Free curve and it arrives today!
